Experience the mouth-watering aroma and delicious taste of smoke-cooked barbeque, savor every heavenly bite of sweet peach desserts, and take delight in every moment of fun at the City of Kennesaw's 2012 Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival.

The festival features a Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned BBQ competition, which is recognized as a Georgia Barbecue Championship contest; as well as a Backyard BBQ, Anything Butt and Peach Dessert Contest. Over $15,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to contest winners.

Enjoy live musical performances, a family entertainment stage, a Kid Zone featuring amazing slides, inflatable bounces, interactive games and other child-friendly activities, delicious food and beverage vendors, and a street festival atmosphere of arts, crafts and general merchandise -- including a selection of sponsor booths with unique products and services.

Main Stage Performance Schedule

Friday, August 24

6 p.m. - The Shuffle Junkies are an Atlanta-based blues and classic rock power trio. In addition to their growing number of original songs, the band covers tracks from music icons such as Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Albert Collins, ZZ Top and Tom Petty.
 
8 p.m. - The Jagged Stones are an Atlanta-based Rolling Stones tribute band who deliver every pout, preen and raunchy riff that their fans expect, bringing the entertainment level of an over-the-top arena show up-close and personal.

Saturday, August 25

12 p.m. - The Kennesaw Mountain Boys are a Kennesaw-based bluegrass band featuring Roger Wilson on guitar and vocals, Jon Chambley on banjo, Hal Rogers on guitar and vocals, and C.J. Pearson on bass guitar and vocals.

2 p.m. - Roger "Hurricane" Wilson
is an accomplished blues and roots guitarist who's jammed with legends like Les Paul, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Charlie Musselwhite. He's also shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Delbert McClinton, Leon Russell and Edgar Winter.

5 p.m. - Whisky Bent is a locomotive of country rock music who travel around the southeast delivering southern rock flavor with an old country kick. They've shared the stage with such artists as Zac Brown, Jamey Johnson, James Otto, Blues Traveler and the Gin Blossoms.

Frontiers - The Journey Tribute
7 p.m. - Frontiers is a nationally touring Journey tribute band comprised of music veterans who share a lifelong love and respect for one of the most successful rock bands of the 1980s. Lead singer Jeremy Hunsicker has been described as a dead ringer for Journey frontman, Steve Perry

9:45 p.m. - Fireworks Spectacular

The festival will conclude on Saturday with an inspirational fireworks spectacular.


 

Showcase Your Talent!

Dance ensembles, drill teams, choir groups, variety acts and solo entertainers are invited to apply to perform on the family entertainment stage, which will be located in the festival's Kid Zone.
